HACKENSACK — A police officer facing departmental disciplinary charges has had a lengthy history of driver’s license suspensions, a police captain testified on Thursday.
Capt. Thomas Salcedo said after reviewing Police Officer Alessandra Viola’s driving record, he found that Viola’s New Jersey driver’s license had been suspended 11 times prior to her joining the Hackensack Police Department in 2000. Viola’s license was also revoked three more times afterward because of parking offenses, Salcedo said. He said the officer was assigned a radio car on days when her license was suspended or expired.
